She previously worked at the Washington Examiner and National Review, and as a think tank researcher at the Centre for Independent Studies in Sydney, Australia. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, First Things, the Claremont Review of Books, and many others. Emile Doak is the executive director of the American Ideas Institute, which publishes The American Conservative. He has served in a variety of roles since joining the organization in early 2017, and previously worked in education. His writing has appeared in First Things, Chronicles: A Magazine of American Culture, Front Porch Republic, and elsewhere. A proud native of Herndon, Virginia, Emile lives in the historic district of his hometown.
