Jessee, Janie C.: - Born into a blue collar working family and raised on a farm in Southwest Virginia, Janie Jessee was taught values of hard work, rooted in Christian-believing morals. Being part of the baby boomer generation, Jessee supported the old traditions being broken and new traditions being created for women in business and careers outside of the home. The first in her family to receive a college degree, Jessee was the first to start and publish a women's monthly magazine in her hometown region. She owns a successful book publishing company, Jan-Carol Publishing, and through her work at this business and Voice Magazine for Women, she hopes to inspire women to grow, to be encouraged, and to find their destinies.
