Ava Goes To The Dentist is a book about a child with autism who visits the dentist for the first time. This is the first of a series of the Ava Goes...books. This and all of the books to follow are from a child's point of view. Ava Goes To The Dentist explains the process from beginning to end about what a trip to the dentist looks like. Children with autism are often presented with "social stories" to familiarize them with new experiences. This book includes a resource page for parents to support them as they advocate for their child with special needs. A portion of the authors royalties from the original sale of this book are going to the UC Davis MIND Institute and Stanford Universities Autism and Developmental Disorders Research Program for their respective continued research in autism.
