Flores, Manuel C.: - "Dr. Manuel Flores is a professor of journalism/communications at Texas A&M University in Kingsville. He is the former chair of the Art, Communications and Theatre Dept. at TAMUK. Previously, he was a journalism professor at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. He has more than 25 years in Higher Education. Dr. Flores has written one book - "Hispanics in the Media: More than 100 years of Spanish-Language Influence in U.S. Communications." He is an award-winning journalist earning recognition for his reporting on sports and education. He is currently the book-review columnist for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. His column, Texana Reads, is syndicated in several southwestern newspapers. He has written numerous scholarly and academic articles and has been recognized for his community work. Dr. Flores retired as a captain from the Texas Army National Guard."
