Coldstream, Catherine: - Catherine Coldstream grew up in London and converted to Catholicism in her early twenties. She was a Carmelite nun for twelve years, living in one monastery in the north of England for over a decade. Since leaving, she has gained degrees from the University of Oxford and UEA, and now teaches theology, philosophy and ethics as well as playing viola professionally. She has never stopped thinking about her life as a nun and writes about it as a way to understand the experiences that shaped her.
