Color author J. Michael McFadden green! From his Irish father's lively storytelling to attending church and school at Cleveland St. Patrick's parish, he acquired a keen interest in Irish tradition, folklore and myth. Always honing word skills, he was chosen Editorial Editor of his HS newspaper and dabbled in writing detective stories in the vein of Sherlock Holmes. While yielding to study engineering as a more well-paid career, he minored in English at John Carroll University and The University of Detroit Mercy. While raising a young family, he wrote short stories as part of a correspondence class from the Connecticut Institute of Children's Literature. This led to drafting two novels with the Institute based on characters in W.B. Yeats' "A Treasury of Irish Myth, Legend, and Folklore" and several visits to Ireland. While the manuscripts gathered dust without a publisher, J. Michael kept the writing flame alive by creating the Writer's Exchange group at his local Barnes & Noble. Argon Press invited him to join in early 2016. With their help, "Deidre's Dawn: Book 1 of The Enchantment" released in October 2016. Book 2 of the trilogy, "Rising Darkness," released on April 25th, 2018. The vision of the final series manuscript still dances like faeries in J. Michael's head, but should land in print in 2019. J. Michael McFadden lives in Muskegon, Michigan, next to Lake Michigan and its stunning sunsets with his wife Barbara. His grandson Owen, after reading "Deidre's Dawn," asked when the movie comes out. Time will tell!
