Lilliann King is returning to her hometown after her three-year fiancé left her at the altar for her best friend. After being given a book for her birthday by a family friend, who owns a bookstore, it throws her into a supernatural world of spells, jinxes, charms, and hexes, not to mention dreams of the past. Her lifelong study of horror movies and raunchy paranormal books has left her completely unprepared. The next day, she makes her way to the bookstore to ask him about the book, only to find him dead on the floor. As Lillie continues to get thrown into the murder investigation, it seems as if she is involved in the death, even if she doesn't know how or why.
