On November 17, 1986, flight JAL 1628, a cargo jet, made international history. The crew on a routine flight to Anchorage, Alaska, encountered three massive UFOs. Days after the incident, it became one of the most famous UFO cases of all time. This true story is what Mark Barresi's powerful science fiction novel Encounter Over Alaska is based upon. When lead executive investigator the FAA, Scott Andrews, is made aware of the case, he is at first unfazed by the report and believes there must be a plausible reason for the experienced pilot and his crew to make up such a wild claim about UFOs.
