Born in France, she studied ballet in Paris and performed at the Theatre Marigny with the Ballet des Champs Elysees and at the Moulin Rouge. In Madrid, she studied flamenco and was invited to join the Spanish Company of Maria Rosa in the mid-sixties. In New York, a successful career as a personal trainer and healer was enhanced by her serious practice of Zen, Yoga, Tai Chi and Sensory Awareness. In 1981 Katia received a ReiKi and MariEl attunement from Ethel Lombardi, the last Reiki master to be initiated in direct line from Mikao Usui, the man who rediscovered Reiki energy in the late 1800s as an ancient key to universal healing.In Washington DC, Katia created the program "Healing the Body, Mind and Spirit" at the Lombardi Medical Center of Georgetown University. In 1996, Katia made history at G.U.M.C when invited as a healer during surgery. During five hours of total mastectomy and reconstruction, she offered healing to the patient, the operation deemed a great success by the patient and medical team.Katia was married to the English virtuoso clarinetist Gervase de Peyer. She continues her work as a healer and writer, and lives in London and New York.
