Norton, Jerry: - Two months shy of his 90th birthday, Stephen G. "Jerry" Norton has enjoyed a wide-ranging career--a patriot, veteran of the Korean Conflict, then a graduate of Columbia University, he spent the next forty years developing sophisticated airborne radar systems for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. Next, in retirement, he embarked on a second 25-year career as a sports photojournalist. Along the way, he found time to coach youth sports, teach wheelchair tennis to Special Olympic athletes, and write five non-fiction books. Two years ago, as therapy for chronic pain, he took up oil painting and, despite vision in only one eye, used his skills as a copy artist to create a sixth non-fiction work: Faces in American History...from my palette.
