Howells, Rees: - Rees Howells was an intercessor, missionary, revivalist and the founder of the Bible College of Wales (BCW). He was a former miner, turned missionary to Gazaland in Southern Africa. As Director of BCW he bought the Glynderwen Estate, Swansea, Wales, in 1923, followed by Derwen Fawr, Sketty Isaf and Penllergaer (now part of Penllergare Valley Woods) as a designated home for Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi persecution across Europe. Rees Howells had more than 320 acres to his name; including four mansions, a Bible College, Schools, Hospital, Chapel, Conference Hall and Home of Rest for Missionaries with more than 90 staff members as part of an international community of men, women and children, sustained by prayer and faith in the power of God. Rees Howells is best known by the biography by Norman Grubb, Rees Howells Intercessor.
