In this poetry collection, themes of exploration of identity and culture, as well as grief and family are explored. The author takes her own experience through life to craft images that strike hope and imagination in the readers view. It is relatable to women of all ages from different walks of life. It can also strike a political cord which often make the author somewhat of an outspoken advocate of sorts. The author writes about the things that matter to her as a member of the Latinx Community and the daughter of an immigrant.
