There is a forceable demonstration to dismantle any infrastructure a candidate has in place or will put in place to expand his candidacy that favors him positively and out existing operations at risk. We are talking about "systems," a consortium of businesses within the business of politics, and all the fringes in jeopardy if seats cannot be retained. The longer an incumbent has served, the more likely there is so much to lose. Now, we are not naive in thinking the next person would not rebuild the same type of base and reinstate questionable activities, but sometimes what constituents get is the lesser of the evil when moral compasses are not aligned to do the right thing and uphold the law.
