Romantismul a fost foarte bine realizat. A existat un „triunghi amoros”, deși a fost subtil și nu foarte bine subliniat, deoarece un interes amoros a luat bancheta din spate pe celălalt, într-un sens bun. Îmi place chimia dintre Meghan și tip, care a fost foarte credibilă și a făcut-o cu atât mai satisfăcătoare atunci când își recunosc sentimentele, cam așa.
Și personajele! Le-am iubit pe toate, ceea ce este o raritate în aceste tipuri de cărți, unde doar personajul principal și încă unul sau doi ies în evidență și toate celelalte sunt descrise sau menționate doar trecător. Meghan are un însoțitor într-o pisică asemănătoare Cheshire pe nume Grimalkin, pe care l-am adorat, iar toate celelalte personaje au fost bine puse la punct până în punctul în care le-am putut vizualiza în minte și le-am putut înțelege acțiunile. THE IRON KING amintește de Alice în Țara Minunilor prin faptul că există acest sentiment de a fi într-un cadru alternativ, extrem de ciudat și suprarealist, ceea ce este adevărat într-o anumită măsură, deoarece o mare parte din roman are loc în Nevernever, casa zânelor.
