If science can explain all that we need to know about the universe and how it all came into existence, is God really necessary?

The theory of evolution claims that everything in the universe came into existence by random chance over the course of millions of years. Is that really possible? Can complex organisms really develop from a "simple" cell? Can life be sustained as the intricate systems necessary for life gradually come into existence over thousands and millions of years? For any system to work correctly, all the components in the system need to be fully functional and in their proper positions. From DNA molecules, to our circulatory system, to our senses, to photosynthesis, all require complete, fully functional systems to do what they were designed to do.

Mark Waller earned a B.A in Chemistry and a Masters in Divinity from Bethel College and Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. For over thirty years, he has served as an assistant pastor, primarily ministering to students, and has led over sixty mission trips. He also directed a non-profit food program that packaged rice-based meals and shipped them overseas to feed over 3.3. million people. He and his wife, Beth, have been married for forty-two years and have three children and eight grandchildren.
