Jain Tirthankaras and Religion - Amrahs Hseham

Jain Tirthankaras and Religion

The Jain religion is one of the ancient religions of the world. This religion is also discussed in ancient books like "Srimad Bhagwad," "Vishnu Puran," "Padam Puran," "Matsya Puran," and other ancient Puranas.

The Jain Gurus are also called Jin, Jindev, or Jinendra. From the word 'Jin', the word 'Jain' has been procured. Jin is for those people who have subdued their senses and are not harmful to any living creature. They are only referred to as Arhant, Arihant, or Arhat in honor of them.

There are twenty-four Tirthankaras in the Jain religion, and these Tirthankaras are from these Arahants only. All these Tirthankara have taken birth as common men and, after having subdued their senses along with having control over their minds and souls, have become Tirthankara.
