Drawing on Beat poetry and surrealism to create a visceral and emotional experience, Johnny D. shares his memoirs reconciling his spirituality and sexuality.

Johnny D. is a community college English instructor and an activist for LGBTQ+ rights as well as other causes. He has particularly worked with the Dolores Huerta Foundation centered in Bakersfield, CA. He has had a lifelong love affair with poetry, especially British Romantic and American Beat poets, and is a poet himself.
