Vasquez, Katatra: - State of Tennessee Historical Commission Award-Winning Author, Katatra Vasquez, is environmental scientist, proud mom, and a history enthusiast who has a passion for revealing the stories and contributions of the historically unknown to connect and inspire all people, especially kids. She is a native of Dayton, Ohio, but presently resides in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. A graduate of Tuskegee University, her public service career as an environmental scientist and historic preservation practitioner has spanned for over 20 years. She has been recognized several times for her work in protecting American spaces for future generations. She is the author of Atomic Hope: Our Words and Our Spaces STEAM Travel Guide, Josie's Hope: A Secret City Revealed books and her new book Making A Little Red Wagon. She is also the President of Atomic Hope Heritage Preservation and Tourism Company and owner of the boutique Publishing House, Prolific by Design.
