Michael R. Garcia was born in Alamosa and raised in Conejos, one of the earliest settlements in Colorado. Many of his ancestors were the earliest settlers of San Luis Valley. Michael inherited many family photographs and was compelled to share these and the history of his family. It is a fascinating historical and biographical sketch of his ancestors' families who had their beginnings in New Mexico and Colorado and a record of their

contributions to the development of the southern part of the state. included are his mother's and his wife's families. Over two hundred photographs help tell the stories of these amazing individuals.
