Psalms of Passion for God مزامير العشق الإلهي: P

De (autor): Moncef Ouheibi

Ouheibi, Moncef: - "Dr. Moncef Ouheibi is a lecturer in the College of Literature and Human Sciences at the University of Sousse in Tunisia. He is a poet, novelist, screenwriter, and has translated a number of works of literature. He also hosts a radio program on Sufi music and cultural traditions for Tunisian Cultural Radio. His collection of poetry "Diwan Ouheibi" won the Babtain Foundation prize for the best collection of poetry in 2014, and his collection of poems "With the Penultimate Cup" won the Sheikh Zayed literature prize in 2020. *** Some comments on this work: "Regarding this book of the Psalms in its new rendering into Arabic from Dr. Moncef Ouheibi, I think that the text [of the Psalms] has been rendered in authentic Arabic because the meanings entrusted to us from another language have been rendered vividly. There is a distinctive brilliance to this text, and it is now able to express the emotional force and spirit of the original." - Dr. Mehdi Maqdud, professor of Arabic language and literature. "When I decided to read "Psalms of Passion for God" in its new rendering by Dr. Moncef Ouheibi, I was hesitant at first. I said to myself, how shall I go about reading this book? Should I look at it from a religious perspective, or in some other way? I found the text to be engaging and attractive, and I liked the style because I myself write prose poetry. When I started reading, I was going to start with the first and second psalm, but the texts drew me in easily and I enjoyed reading them." - Sonia Ferjani, poet. "I found it a great pleasure to read this new book. I was impressed with the choice of Dr. Moncef Ouheibi to rephrase this book at this particular time and found it surprising, because he is a poet deeply involved in the modern poetic movement." - Dr. Noureddin Zouitni, professor of English literature and poet. "I want to tell a real-life story about this book. When I gave it to my wife, she began to page through it and she said, 'This is our language'. She doesn't know anything about ancient Hebrew or Christian texts, but she found it familiar". -Dr. Ali Makhlabi, Assistant professor in Arabic language, literature, and civilization at the University of Tunis."
