Carrie N. Baker (she/they) is the Sylvia Dlugash Baumann professor of American Studies and a professor in the Program for the Study of Women and Gender at Smith College. She earned her JD and PhD in Women's Studies from Emory University. She is a frequent writer for Ms. magazine, where she serves as co-chair of the Ms. Committee of Scholars, and has a monthly column in the Daily Hampshire Gazette (Northampton, Massachusetts). She engages the broader public as a member of the Scholars Strategy Network and Women's Media Center's SheSource, and is an alumna of WMC's Progressive Women's Voices, a media and leadership training program.

Aviva Dove-Viebahn is an Assistant Professor of Film and Media Studies at Arizona State University and a Contributing Editor for the Scholar Writing Program at Ms. magazine, which frequently carries her essays and reviews in both its print and online editions. She's currently working on a book project exploring representations of feminine intuition, as a contested and ambivalent form of gendered power and knowledge, in contemporary television.
