Sandra Page grew up in Miami, Florida, where her father worked for Pan American Airlines. Her family traveled widely. On a trip to Guatemala and Mexico when Sandra was nine, she met the Maya for the first time. The people, their history, and their culture captivated her. She has long yearned to tell a story that captures their ancient glory and the mystery of their decline. Ms. Page is a graduate of Florida State University, where she received her bachelor's and master's degrees in History. After a decade of teaching in schools in Florida and Georgia, she entered law school at Mercer University in Georgia, where she graduated magna cum laude. She worked as a trial lawyer for twenty-five years and lives in Georgia with her attorney husband and their toy poodle. Pyramid of the Lost World is the first title in Ms. Page's Lost Worlds series. The Georgia Writers Association chose Ms. Page as its 2013 Author of the Year, Children's Writing. The second title in the Lost Worlds series, Island of the Lost World, will be released late 2016.
