Many children (and adults) think of math as a subject that needs to be explored in isolation during a 'math class'. In this book readers are introduced to the many different ways math is visible in a school environment. Noticing shapes in the building, counting the steps walked down the hall, and considering how materials are organized in the classroom all help children notice and name the ways math helps them each day at school.

In this book readers explore the math that exists in their environment using the 'see, think, and wonder' thinking routine. Colourful photos and an easy to access text invite both children and adults to explore math in the world around us. Photos can also be used without text to engage children in math talks as they observe and discuss what they see on each page.

Educators will find this book to be an effective resource to inspire math talks within the classroom or before heading on a walk around the school. Families can use this book as a tool for helping inspire math thinking and conversation with children during quality reading time together or when reflecting upon children's time at school.
