Trone, Carole: - My focus and passion is social impact. After graduating from Wesleyan University, I spent some early days with Planet Propaganda and then earned my master's and doctoral degrees in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I've led winning teams selected for gener8tor's gBETA Social Impact program, StartingBlock Madison's Social Impact Initiative, and Schmidt Future's Alliance for the American Dream competition. I teach undergraduate classes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on social and policy issues in education. At the Center for Academic Excellence at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I developed communications strategies for reaching different audiences about the challenges of student access and success for first-generation, students of color, and low- income college students. I provided early research and policy support for the launch of WISCAPE, a campuswide research and policy center for postsecondary issues at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and worked for Chancellor David Ward at UW-Madison. As Executive Director for a statewide education nonprofit, we partnered with K-12 schools, students, and parents on accelerated and advanced curriculum programs.
