account of the struggle for survival of the Australasian Antarctic
Expedition - a journey which mapped more of Antarctica than any
expedition before or since.
The photographs included in this book were taken on the journey
by Frank Hurley, later to achieve fame on Sir Ernest Shackleton's
Endurance expedition.
