The Why Intersection tells the story of a tiny Arizona border town in the mid-1980s grappling with the movement of people across that boundary. The march of America toward a more contentious country, a more complex nation, both confuses and angers a small group of Whyans who desire a simpler time when the world's problems did not directly affect them. However, located just 30 miles north of Mexico in the Sonoran Desert, Why cannot escape the ominous and rapidly approaching 21st century.
