Metscher, Dixie: - Dixie Metscher is a passionate homemaker and mother who adores anything French. She graduated from Roanoke College with a bachelor's degree in French. After she spent three and a half months studying in Lyon, France, she wrote Thomas and the Praline Tart (Thomas et la Tarte Aux Pralines) to share her magical experience with the traditional foods and atmosphere of Lyon's Saint Antoine Quai. Dixie wishes to inspire children to think about the world's complexities.
