Arriving in the year 802,701, the Time-Traveller finds that humanity has evolved into two drastically different species; going farther still, he witnesses the ultimate fate of the solar system. The Chronic Argonauts, the original version of The Time Machine, pits a scientist with daring views of time and space against superstitious villagers. In all three works Wells laces vivid adventure stories with the latest ideas in biology and physics.

Una din primele carti sf citite de mine, alaturi de "Lumea Pierduta" de Arthur Conan Doyle, care mi-a deschis apetitul pentru genul sf, dar si a cartilor scrie de a H. G. Wells. Primul scriitor care prezinta idea de a calatorii in timp, cu o "masina a timpului", o idee care nu se poate pune inca in practica (poate este mai bine asa), dar cartea in sine este interesanta nu doar pentru ca ne prezinta aceasta idee ci pentru ca arata si consecintele acestei tehnologii, si da... exista consecinte :P
