Ever since time immemorial, the exploitation of traditional medicine and related knowledge has been

taking place in many societies the world over. In most Third World Countries such as Zambia,

however, the result of this exploitation has meant a loss of ownership and benefits of traditional

medicine and knowledge to the country of source.

In this book, therefore, Dr. Bonface C. Fundafunda demonstrates why it is important for Zambia to

bring traditional medicine and knowledge into the mainstream practice of public healthcare, and how

this will bring the many social, cultural and economic gains for the country. He believes that the
