Heinz, Donald: - Donald Heinz is professor of religious studies emeritus and was dean of humanities and fine arts at California State University, Chico. He is a minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. He is the author of The Last Passage: Recovering a Death of Our Own (1999), Christmas: Festival of Incarnation (2010), After Trump: Achieving a New Social Gospel (Cascade, 2020), and Matthew 25 Christianity: Redeeming Church and Society (Cascade, 2022). His teaching and research are in biblical studies, Christian ethics, and the sociology of religion as contested public space. He is working on social justice and social gospel as rivals to Christian nationalism.
