An aging mom realizes with shock and sorrow she cannot remain in her marriage. Bereft with grief, she fights against her new status at every point, confronting car mechanics and innocent bystanders with her tearful woes. Her teenage daughter's angry response and her own inner turmoil add to the emotional fallout.
