Folly Beach is truly a magical place. The little barrier island is just off the coast of South Carolina. There's plenty to do, but that's not what makes Folly Beach so special. Folly Beach happens to have mermaids!

When Ashlyn meets a real-life mermaid, it marks the beginning of a magical adventure full of friendship, wishes, and important life lessons.

Ashlyn has always wanted fins. Her new friend, Pearlina, on the other hand, wants to feel the sand between her toes. When the two girls wish on the North Star, something incredible happens! They switch bodies and get to walk a mile in the other's shoes (or swim in the other's fins, as the case may be). The two will discover, however, that they might have been missing something right in front of them. Sometimes, the best place to be is exactly where you already are.
