Marion Harley is a retired elementary school assistant principal. Before becoming an educator, she was a paralegal for the Federal Government in the General Accounting Office.

She is the author and illustrator of a previous book: Gorgeous Gigi: A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and her poetry has appeared in several issues of Rhyme Time and the Aiken Standard.

Hers has been a Boxer family for more than forty years. In addition to her two current Boxers, she also owns two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

She lives in Aiken County, South Carolina, with her husband, Paul, and enjoys the time she spends with her dogs, her family, and her friends.
